MFE 2024 Performer Application Form

I understand that the MFE reserves the right to accept or decline your participation in the event if the requirements are not met.

All performers must comply with the following Rules and Regulations:

CONTRACT 

If your application is accepted, this form will become the contract for your participation at the 2nd annual H.O.P.E Multicultural Festival of Elmira (MFE). 

PROOF OF INSURANCE

All performers are highly recommended to have insurance. The following link provides coverage for events like the MFE:

PARTICIPATION

• We cannot guarantee your participation at the festival until we have reviewed all applications.
• If you are selected, you may not assign your allotted time slot to another performer or permit anyone else to use any part of the space on stage without our prior written permission. 
• Performers are responsible for arriving 1 hour before their performance time slot to account for last-minute changes. We have the right to decline payment if the performer fails to arrive at their scheduled time.
• The MFE Volunteer Committee reserves the right to prohibit the display and/or distribution of anything we consider (in our opinion) obscene or otherwise offensive.

SITE SETUP

Performers will be provided one main tent to use located next to the stage as a change room, to rest before/after the performance, and to help themselves to the snacks offered by MFE. 

• Performers must leave the tent space clean and in the same condition, it was when you arrived. Trash and other materials should be disposed of and not left behind. 
• Failure to leave the site clean, and/or to report broken or damaged furniture, equipment or property that does not belong to the performer may result in additional costs.

PARKING 

We recommend that you arrive early to find a spot closest to the venue. The load and unload area is permitted for setup only and will be located on the west side (right) of John Mahood Junior Public School, between the school and Gibson Park. This area will be only open before the festival start time (noon). With that in mind, make sure you have the necessary equipment to maneuver anything required for your performance from the lot to the park grounds if you plan on arriving after the festival start time. Performers will be notified if the load/unload location changes. 

PERFORMANCE COORDINATORS

Performance Coordinators will be on-site to handle any disputes or concerns. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please keep in mind, however, that our resources are limited and we cannot always guarantee that we will be able to meet your needs. Also, note that we are volunteers, and your kindness will be appreciated.

PERFORMER REQUIREMENTS 

• Performers are required to be on-site 1-hr before their scheduled performance. 
• Performers are prohibited from singing/providing music that has any profanity, hate speech, discriminatory remarks or political opinions.
• Performers are responsible for providing their own meals.
• Theft prevention is the responsibility of the performers. 
• Performers may only conduct activities approved by Performance Coordinators.

By complying with this application the performer agrees to abide by the conditions, rules & regulations set out on this application.

This is an inclusive event which means there will be performers, vendors, volunteers and attendees who represent the 2SLGBTQ+ community, different cultures, those with disabilities, and more. We have zero tolerance for misconduct, including harassment, bullying, abuse or assault, illegal activity, intoxication, discrimination and plagiarism. This includes social media.
